Enchant
is ready and Prove too. So I am
getting on with filling in the latest blinds spots, working
through the portfolio, getting the forum and the forms ready
to roll and collecting the latest responses of my testteam of
friends and aquaintances.

More work to
be done: The portfolio is slowly growing. Next to the
establishment of the overview of this huge collection of
images of works done recently or in the past, there is even
more work to be done: writing the enchant series about
enchanting the personal, enchantment by strategy, design, art
and writing. As the pieces are re-written again and again,
their impact is improved.
June 2002
At this point
this site is beyond half of it's production proces. The first
four entries are ready now and I've installed the
site's search engine and the
forum. As the portfolio
get's filled in there's still a lot of work to be done. This
site contains content. That is why it's a big job to get
it all together, aspecially if you do most of it alone. As it
grows and I experience the excitement the site raises in the
happy few that got a first look at it, I guess it's worth the
investment.

2002
Somewhere at
the start of the year 2002 I started to make the templates and
visual concepts for this site. Then the big work started: To
collect all of my notes and start with the proces of making
the concept turn into an implemented idea: The making of
a website that gives the visitor a chance to get a
closer look at the experiences,
thoughts and ideas
that live inside a designers mind.
December
2001
About two
years later I discovered the website of the
IVREA institute and by surfing around I came up to the url
of Nathan
Shedroff. It was on her site that I discovered an article
about the personal website that reflected most of my personal
insights. This article also made my confidence grow about my
personal intentions.
Summer of
1999
The idea for this site was born during the year 1999 when I
was working at Keja
Donia Design in Amsterdam. In those days I was reflecting
on the nature of the personal website.
The sites
that fit the description of the personal website are usually
made up of facts and features at random. In fact establishing a structure and a philosophy for a personal
homepage is rare.
This
situation made me develop my personal thoughts on the subject
of the personal homepage. From that point in the summer of
1999 I started to make notes, collect ideas and images and
slowly an outline emerged. The subjects that seemed important
to me were grouped into a scheme. A scheme that serves today
as the main navigation of this site. This scheme was then
subdived in the parts that serve as a subnavigation on every
page.
