Design gets it's inspiration from experiments. A magazine is a medium that is designed according to certain traditional rules. 'Making My Point' is an experiment which starts from the basic ideas on magazine design, but then stretches these rules and enlarges them. Experiment needs a lack of purpose and an atmosphere of playfullness. The concentration you need comes from forgetting the clock. The black and white approach was inspired by a Dot-painting that was inspired by another dot painting, that was... (see polaroid) and then developed into a small portfolio of ideas about graphic and typographic design. These ideas were connected with art and philosophy. The result is a collectors item that itself serves as a new inspiration for everyday design solutions that use less extreme shape and layout.
